Footy Vlog 2019: Episode 4 Part 2 - Payback!

In Part 2, the Yellow team need to bounce back from the defeat against the Red team, lost 2-0.

The Yellow team made a flying start, playing possession and keeping the ball. We scored the first two goals.

However, our defensive line were weak, which left both a defender and a goalkeeper at the back. We were exposed that alerts other teams as well.

As a result, we conceded the two goals from the Black team.

The next game against the Red team was about payback. The Red team started really well, slick passing movements and fast counter-attacks, interchanging player's position; pivot, target man and side players.

The Red team won 2-1. The Yellow team made a brilliant effort in salvaging the game by scoring a consolation goal.

Footy Vlog 2019: Episode 4 Part 1 - The Red Team

In Part 1, we are playing at Sports City Futsal PJ. There are three teams; Red, Yellow and Black.

In this video, I am playing for the Yellow(Kuning) team against the Red team.

The Red team plays futsal with fast movements and rotating roles during the game. For example, rotating the pivot to target man roles. That creates slight unpredictability in their futsal movements.

The Yellow team, the team that I'm playing in, had a decent game. We played some possession and some triangle football moments. However, we struggled against the fast-paced Red team, which caused our futsal positions to be conflicted. Despite that, the Yellow team still create goal-scoring opportunities but were not be able to convert them.

Malaysian Super League 2019: Selangor vs PJ City - Last Home Game!

Last home game of the season in Shah Alam, kicked-off at 9 pm.

First Half

The first 45 minutes were a close game. Neither team gave too much space.

PJ City were well-organised and discipline as a unit. Namely their two defensive midfielders contain the home side's attack most of the time.

That allow little space for Selangor's playmaker, Enderick, to create through passes for Ifedayo.
Selangor, on the other hand, were focused in closing the gaps, allowing little chance of counter-attacking from the away side, PJ City.

Second Half

The away side had to go for it. Deploying more players upfront, about 4-5 players near Selangor's goal.

The home side maintain ball possession in second half. Took charge of the game, tiring the away side.

However, as in previous games, the home side seems to have lapse in concentration in the last 15 minutes of the game.

Conceding goals were a concern for Selangor and literally sums up their campaigne.

Thankfully, that didn't happened tonight.

The game ended

Selangor 3-0 PJ City

Footy Vlog 2019: Episode 3 Part 2 - The Three Teams

Hey guys,

We're in Part 2 of Episode 3 Footy Vlog. But first, a quick recap on Part 1. We did a quick tour on the Sports City Futsal PJ (Petaling Jaya) futsal court during the warming-up.

Part 2 provides highlights of futsal from the red(merah), yellow(kuning), and black(hitam) teams. I'm playing in yellow(kuning), a decent futsal team with the right balance of futsal attacking and defending strategies and formation.

It's a great way to learn from each futsal teams on how to play futsal better.

I'm also amazed at how the black(hitam) team plays, how they apply their passing and soccer skills in their futsal attacking and defending strategies.

Top Transfer/Player Analysis 2019: Aaron Wan Bissaka to Manchester United

Hey guys,

Here's another top transfer signing made by Manchester United, Aaron Wan Bissaka on a five-year deal for £45m plus £5m in add-ons. The best young player for Crystal Palace.

Who is Aaron Wan Bissaka?

He is a former Crystal Palace player as a right back with 42 appearances, season 2016-2019.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka key stats for season 2018-2019 as a right back.

He also represents England U21 and involved in the European Under 21 Championship. But unfortunately, England failed to qualify to the next round.

Why Manchester United Need Him?

A little background, Man Utd have been struggling in their defensive line for season 2017-2018, conceding 54 goals that's absolutely abysmal.

Their main problem at their defensive line were the right back and the centre back.

The second issue is Manchester United under their new manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs transfer signings of players that are young, ambitious and hungry to play for one of the biggest football club.

So, Aaron Wan Bissaka fits into Manchester United's transfer description.

The most intriguing stats I find above is 90 Most Take-Ons Completed.

Why is the Most Take-Ons Completed important?

This means that the football player, Aaron Wan Bissaka, is brave and willing to take the football opponents on.

For the past six English Premier League(EPL) seasons, Manchester United have been more tactical in their approach on opponents. The players are more cautious with their passes and movements, which diminishes their confidence to take-on players.

Until Ole Solskjaer takes-over as caretaker manager on 22 December 2018. Manchester United's football philosophy have gradually changed, current players mindset have gradually change and more willing to take-on the opponents.

That explains why Wan Bissaka's take-ons ability is crucial and fit into Manchester United's new football philosophy, playing the United Way. Along with Daniel James, I hope for more players of this type in future transfers.

Two Potential Football Strategies and Formation

We have the current formation with the current football players.

The Traditional 4-4-2

Wan Bissaka will play a typical right back. A straight forward approach, expecting him to make full-back runs and providing crosses to the forwards, Rashford and Lukaku.

The Diamond 4-3-3

Looks weird? Here both players, Matic and Wan Bissaka will act as Defensive Midfielder roles. Their aim is to provide extra security to the attacking creative midfielder, Paul Pogba as an example.

The reason is because both have tremendous interception skills, in particular, Wan Bissaka has 84 Most Interceptions. That's a crucial attribute for a defensive midfielder.

Another important attribute is the take-ons. The take-on means a player willing to run and get past at their opponents. as mentioned above, Wan Bissaka has 90 take-ons completed. His skill could become useful in creating space and involve in one-two movements.

That's about it. Be sure to check out my footy vlog.

Vlog: Malaysian Super League 2019: Selangor vs Pahang - My Opinion and Tactical Analysis

Excited to be back in Shah Alam stadium last night. Been there way back in the year 2010, when Selangor played in the AFC Champions League.

Last night's game was another big step for Selangor FC as they demolished Pahang 5-2.

As I walked into the stadium, the lights, cheers and the football is what I've been missing and eager to watched.

The atmosphere was acceptable, albeit with 3,000 attendance. But credit goes to the Ultras Selangor, home and away fans(came from a 3-hour journey) for chanting and sticking with the team through thick and thin of success.

I was impressed on how Selangor contained Pahang's midfield to stop their supplies to the forwards. No doubt, Pahang's forwards' pace are frightening, which caused problems for the Selangor's defence.

That happened in the first half. Selangor switched to back five to contain their opponent's forwards. Meanwhile, the midfields had to go the extra mile by pressing swiftly to stop the Pahang's midfielders and hence their distribution to the forwards.

Another masterclass from Selangor is the False 9 approach. The target man drops deep into the halfway line in order to open up the play for the flanks. Then bursting with frightening pace into the box, anticipating crosses from the flanks.

Again, I was impressed with the Selangor's flanks, exploiting space and taking on defenders. He had the right service from the midfields and the full backs, which greatly assist his game for the whole night.

There some minor scare moments when Pahang was on the route of making a comeback.

Pahang had to change their strategy in the second half. Putting more people upfront and taking risk.

They were rewarded with a long shot curler to the keeper's top right corner. What a goal! It reminded me of Hazard's curler against United in FA cup quarter final 2013.

Then, they were rewarded with another headed goal from the set-piece. At the time, I thought Selangor were lapse in concentration and it's all about pacing through the final whistle.

Alhamdulillah, thankfully it did with a handsome victory!

Hope they can continue this consistently as the Malaysia Cup (Piala Malaysia), the most prestigious competition in Malaysia, looms large.

AFC Futsal Championship U20 Final - Afghanistan vs Japan

What a final! Well played from both sides, Afghanistan and Japan. The match is being played at the Pour Sharifi Indoor Stadium, Tabriz, IR Iran.

For Afghanistan, this is their second appearance in the final of the U20 AFC Futsal Championship. A team played with skills and flamboyance. This team managed to scrape through during the knock-out rounds, beating Thailand 3-2 in the quarters and Indonesia 4-3 in the semis.

For Japan, a team that is well-organised, and will punish teams with the slightest of error. This team had a solid run-through the knock-out rounds beating Iraq 2-0 in the quarters and the host, Iran 8-4 in the semis.

Analysis of the Final

Exploiting Space

Lapses in concentration from Afghanistan have allowed Japan to exploit space during the counter-attack. That eventually led to the first goal from the Japanese despite a healthy possession from the Afghanistan.

Organised Team Unit

The Japanese players indeed have tremendous work-rate, team-work and disciplined in man-marking during off-the-ball. As a result, this frustrates the Afghanistan players in searching for the slightest opening to shoot on goal, which kept the score to 2-1.

I'm fascinated at the way Japanese maintain their level of concentration throughout both periods in the final. At this level, even the slightest mistake will be punished by the opponents.

Finally, both teams produced an entertaining final under the blistering atmosphere. Final score Japan 3-1 Afghanistan.

Another milestone day in the futsal world. I'm also excited to be back on the very blue court, playing a size-4 ball with friends. All the action in my vlog Episode 2:

Top Soccer Transfer 2019: Eden Hazard to Real Madrid for €100 million

Hey guys,

The top soccer transfer finalised around last week. Eden Hazard made his dream move to Real Madrid for a transfer fee €100 million. He will be playing under the guidance of Real Madrid's new coach Zinedine Zidane, whom admired him since April 2010 and said “I would take Eden Hazard with my eyes closed.”

Eden Hazard, a former Chelsea player in the English Premier League, expressed his ambition for his new club, Real Madrid, stating "I want to win many titles with Real Madrid, in this shirt. This has been my dream since I was a child and now I'm here. I just want to enjoy this moment." That includes winning the La Liga, Copa Del Rey and the UEFA Champions League.

Eden Hazard has won two English Premier League titles, a League Cup and FA Cup and two Europa League titles with Chelsea F.C.

For us many soccer fans. The big question is how would Hazard fit into Real Madrid's tactical formation.

Let's take a look at three potential strategies that the current coach, Zinedine Zidane might adopt:

4-3-3 Formation

A strong attacking strategy, which relies heavily from the midfields to supply the ball to the three upfronts. This is a no brainer since Hazard is familiar with this tactical approach at his former club, Chelsea.

The downside of this formation is that there are three forwards to choose from. Current Real Madrid players would tend to pass the ball to their team-mates that they are familiar with, which means Hazard may less likely to receive passes from his new team-mates at the beginning.

Therefore, Hazard must build rapport and trust with his team-mates as quick as possible. His countryman, Thibaut Courtois plays critical role in assisting Hazard during adaptation period.

4-2-1-3 Formation

This formation demands high creativity from the False Number Nine or Trequartista player. Hazard needs to create space through this role by penetrating into defence with his dribbling skills and create goal-scoring chances for Diaz and Vasquez.

The upside is that Hazard will be the main man for the Real Madrid team. All of his team-mates are build around him week-in week-out.

The downside is that opponents will aim for Hazard to stop the supplies to Real Madrid's forwards. Real Madrid would stuck to one strategy and lacked alternative strategies.

4-1-2-1-2 Formation

Possession play is key in this formation. Zidane will have the option to play "diamond" against his opponents. This give extra security for the False Number 9, Eden Hazard to play his game whilst his team-mates focus on retaining possession through interceptions and committing tactical tackles.

The downside is that this formation demands high work rate and team-movements. The team-movements are developed through training and also chemistry between players where the latter is where Hazard is lacking at the moment.

Looking forward for the next upcoming season in Spain's La Liga.

Soccer Vlog: Mujahideen F.C #1 - Pitch Review

Hey guys,

I'm excited to share you my first soccer vlog. The vlog is about having fun in a five-a-side team playing at Quantum Futsal, Malaysia.

The soccer pitch is made of turf filled with thick artificial grass. Passing can be a bit slower so most of my team-mates have to put more power into passing and shooting the soccer ball.

The best time is when the soccer pitch is wet during rainy days because it eases the soccer ball to travel quicker. You can also shoot the soccer ball with ease as it enables you to slide your kicking foot on the ground.

Overall, it's a good five-a-side soccer pitch to play.

Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) 2019 - Master League

Hey guys,

It's been quite a while updating this blog, about 4 years ago if not mistaken.

Lately, I've bought a copy of  PES 2019 around the first week of February this year. Unfortunately, I've decided to get this over FIFA 19 even though it's extremely a popular game.

So, a couple of weeks back, been exploring on this new game. My last was PES 2016, which was not that bad. After going through some training and won a cup with Barcelona team. I've went to try out the master league using the same team Barcelona, except that they're given fringe players to start with.

By mid-season, after December of master league season 1. I went to manage MD White (or known as Real Madrid). It was a massive turnaround from players to the owner's expectation (expecting to win trophies obviously).

So, here's a live broadcast I did last week for you to enjoy.

Once again, thank you for your patience.  :)
